History and Corporate Activity

Bonia Corporation Berhad, an investment holding company which was listed on the Second Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange in August 1994. Its wholly-owned subsidiaries, namely - CB Franchising Sdn Bhd., Ataly Industries Sdn. Bhd., Low Bow Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. and Active World Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) are involved in designing, manufacturing, marketing and retailing fashionable leather goods for local and overseas markets. It has also moved into property investment and development on a small scale. Towards the end of 1995, the Bonia Group of Companies, through its subsidiary company, CB Franchising Sdn. Bhd. began appointing business partners for its new franchising scheme. This was in response to the Government's invitation to Malaysian companies to promote the concept entrepreneurship via franchising. Today, Bonia Corporation Berhad is one of Malaysia's leading local leatherwear manufacturer, enjoying a 38% market share of local products.

Corporate Activity

Bonia Corporation Berhad, through its subsidiary companies is involved in the designing, manufacturing, marketing and retailing of fashionable leather goods for local and overseas markets. The principal lines are leatherwear, footwear and menswear under the brand names Bonia, Bonia Uomo, Carlo Rino and Sembonia. In June 1993, the company acquired the license to manufacture and distribute the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club leatherwear for the territory of Singapore and Malaysia. The product lines were later expanded to include Bonia Carlo Rino timepieces and Bonia eyewear.
